Derek Souvannavong

I believe that dance and movement is a fundamental and universal expression of art, culture, and people.

I acknowledge that the land I dance, live and breathe on is home to the traditional caretakers of the land and of many nations including Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. I am grateful to share this land.
